I am a writer.
Yes, I am a wife, mother, and grandmother, but I am also a writer. Born in Chicago, Illinois, I have had a relationship with the written word since I was a young child. In the second grade, I was placed in a language arts enrichment class where I was introduced to creative writing. This was a springboard for my passion.
As a teen I wrote plays and short stories that I would eagerly share with interested classmates and friends. Upon arrival at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois,
I continued my love of writing and chose to major in Journalism. I was thrust into the world of news reporting, advertising, photography, public relations, and fiction writing.

My professional career began at an outdoor advertising company followed by copywriting stints at two different major retailers based in Chicago. I ended my copywriting career after three years of working in the advertising department of a nationally recognized safety organization.

After taking time off to start a family, I returned to school to obtain a teaching certificate. I re-entered the workforce as an elementary fourth and later fifth grade teacher where I shared my love and knowledge of writing with my students. I encouraged free journal writing daily in my classroom. Teaching children how to compose creative narratives and poetry was a favorite part of our language arts class. With my principal’s support, I implemented co-teaching writing classes for students using technology.
Now retired, I love to travel, read, write, dance, listen to good music of any genre, indulge in wine tasting, attend live theater, and socialize with family and friends. Going to the beach, anywhere in the world, is a whole vibe for me. There is something about sitting in the sun, sticking my feet in the sand, and listening to the waves that is indescribable. I also take immense pleasure in organizing and hosting a good, themed party!

Always having a desire to publish my work, I now have the time to do it. Unanimous Decision is my fictional debut novel. It was a labor of love. After reading it, I would appreciate your feedback and please take a moment to write a review.
I have begun my second novel which is untitled as of now, but I will give you a snapshot of its premise—53-year-old divorcee and mother of four meets 68-year-old “off-beat” musician. On the surface, they are an odd couple. Will they find any commonalities? Will the conflicts within their families and personal lives prevent them from forming a relationship? You will have to stay tuned for the answers to these questions. Estimated publication date: Fall 2023.
